Expansión del Islam

Observa la evolución del Islam desde su aparición en La Meca y Medina hasta la conquista de la Península Ibérica:

1. 622 - 623: Año de la Hégira. Mahoma huye con los suyos de La Meca a Medina. 
2. 632: Año de la muerte de Mahoma. Toda la franja occidental de Arabia es ya islámica 
3. 638: Toda la península está convertida al Islam. 
4. 661: Comienzo del califato Omeya. La capital se traslada a Damasco. Expansión hacia oriente y occidente (norte de África) 
5. 711: Los Omeyas alcanzan el Estrecho de Gibraltar y vencen a los visigodos en la Batalla del Guadalete. 
6. 732: La mayor parte de la Península Ibérica está bajo dominio musulmán. Los musulmanes son detenidos en Piotiers por Carlos Martel.

Elabora un eje cronológico sobre el Islam:

1º Divide el eje en los siguientes periodos:

     a. Vida de Mahoma (muere en 632)

The Parliament in the Middle Ages

The first parliaments of Europe appeared in the Middle Ages. (12th century)

A parliament was an assembly where the king met with the nobility, clergy and representatives of the major cities of the kingdom to decide, among other things, taxes increase and loans to the crown.

Thanks to the parliaments and to the help of the cities, the king could control the power of the nobility. Through the parliament, he got money from the citizens and created his own army or held wars against his enemies. In return, the king offered to citizens charters of liberty and privilege.

Nowadays, parliaments are different. They are legislative institutions (in a democratic system) where the representatives of the population (elected by vote) make the laws and control the government.

The five pillars of Islam are:
1. DECLARATION OF FAITH: THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD: ALLAH, AND MUHAMMAD IS THE PROPHET OF GOD


2. THEY HAVE TO PRAY FIVE TIMES A DAY


3. FASTING: THEY HAVE TO FAST DURING THE RAMADAM MONTH


4. CHARITY: THEY HAVE TO GIVE PART OF THEIR MONEY TO POOR PEOPLE


5. PILGRIMAGE TO MECCA: THEY HAVE TO TRAVEL TO MECCA AT LEAST (AL MENOS) ONCE IN THEIR LIFETIME
